Fishing action has declined since my last report. I spent 2 days fishing last week, although most pools had fish in them, they did not want to take the fly.
Please be advised that DFO has closed all Gander River tributaries including Northwest and Southwest Gander River due to low water levels and high water temperatures.
The main stem of the Gander River remains open from the run out of Gander Lake to the tidal waters.
These tributaries will reopen as soon as conditions improve..I'll keep you posted.
Because DFO has closed all rivers in this zone except for the main stems of the Gander and Exploits, we may see an increase in the amount of anglers. All we need is more rain and more fresh fish.
